Emergence of a cosmological constant in anisotropic fluid cosmology

چکیده

We investigate anisotropic fluid cosmology in a situation where the spacetime metric back-reacts local, time-dependent way to presence of inhomogeneities. derive exact solutions Einstein field equations describing Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) large scale cosmological evolution local inhomogeneities and back reaction. use our derivation tackle constant problem. A emerges by averaging reaction term on spatial scales order $100 \ \text{Mpc}$, at which universe begins appear homogeneous isotropic. find that magnitude "emerged" agrees with astrophysical observations is related natural baryonic matter density. Thus, there no coincidence problem framework.

Cosmological Constant Seesaw in Quantum Cosmology

Recently a phenomenological relationship for the observed cosmological constant has been discussed by Motl and Carroll in the context of treating the cosmological constant as a 2× 2 matrix but no specific realization of the idea was provided. We realize a cosmological constant seesaw mechanism in the context of quantum cosmology. The main observation used is that a positive cosmological constan...

On the cosmological constant in quantum cosmology

Quantization of a dust-like closed isotropic cosmological model with a cosmological constant is realized by the method of B. DeWitt [1]. It is shown that such quantization leads to interesting results, in particular, to a finite lifetime of the system, and appearance of the Universe in our world as penetration via the barrier. These purely quantum effects appear when Λ > 0. Quantization of cosm...

The Cosmological Constant in Brane Cosmology

We propose, based on brane cosmology, an explicit relation R = MPlR 2 extra of the radius of the observed brane Universe and the extra dimensions for solving both the hierarchy problem and the cosmological constant problem without fine-tuning. This relation associates the dark energy (i.e., cosmic acceleration) in the cosmological physics with the electroweak scale in particle physics, thereby ...

Introduction to Cosmology and the Cosmological Constant

This paper is written for the course apm426S, taught by James Colliander in Spring 2002, University of Toronto. It gives an introduction to cosmology, concentrating on the effects of the cosmological constant Λ in the context of isotropic and homogeneous universe. Solutions to the Einstein’s equation with and without Λ are carefully derived, analyzed and compared. Some current problems with Λ a...

Modified Gravity: Cosmology without dark matter or a cosmological constant

We explore the cosmological consequences of Modified Gravity (MOG), and find that it provides, using a minimal number of parameters, good fits to data, including CMB temperature anisotropy, galaxy mass power spectrum, and supernova luminosity-distance observations. The MOG cosmology is flat and predicts an age of the universe of ∼ 34 billion years.
